Common Name	Eichhornia crassipes is popularly called Water Hyacinth.
Color	The color of the leaf is emerald green and the flowers are lavender in color.
Habitat/Origin	They are native to subtropical or warm temperatures. They are also native to tropical desert and rainforest zones.
Average Size	The leaves of this plant are 10-20 cm that is 4-8 inches. They can grow up to 3 feet in height in the water.
Growth Rate	The growth rate of this plant is high. They can establish very well under optimum temperature.
Placement	They can be placed on the surface of the tank. In the container, they can be allowed to float.
Maintenance	The plant should be thinned as they can cover the entire water surface. Thinning can be done when they cover approximately 60 percent of the water surface.
Planting Methods	In the pond, place a bunch of this pant on the surface of the water. The plant themselves take hold and starts growing.
